On February 20th, Media Center hosted the “It’s your choice” NGO, presented by the head of NGO Harutyun Hambardzumyan.
In his speech Harutyun Hambardzumyan noted that if to compare with the presidential election in 2008 the election in 2013 had less election violations. According to “It’s your choice” NGO, the ballot counting at the polling stations were “generally were peacefully conducted, in calm atmosphere, by natural order and according to Law”. The observing groups have detected some incorrectness and incompleteness about the voter lists, the ink of the stamps, the violation of the election order and in some case expression of intolerance towards the proxies and observers “however there in their totally were not able to change the results of the elections”. Answering the question of the journalist about the factual grounds of the fraud detected by the NGO, Hambardzumyan answered “the every fraud that I talk about is fixed with names and facts. However, it is said that there were bribes given out, however our observers haven’t detected such thing and we can’t speak of that”. At the end of the meeting Hambardzumyan told the journalist “The election campaign, the actual elections allow us to think that one day Armenia will be able to hold elections meeting the international standards, if the detected shortcomings will be paid proper attention to during the next elections”.
